Fashion designer Nina Dewara-Tanawanich started by quietly creating beautiful forms in an unassuming storefront in Brentwood, TN. Recently, her local tailoring and custom gown-making has turned into exciting runway shows and solicitations for catalogue presentations to elite boutiques. Her latest collection will be sold in New York, L.A. and Miami boutiques, as well as grace fashion runways abroad.

Nina and her right-hand man and husband, Alex, after much encouragement to show her work to a wider audience, invested in their first runway show in 2007. "We were to that point where you either stay right here or you take it to the next level," said Alex. After a great review and increased interest from the select audience, Nina continued to push forward with new creations, including 50 items for her Spring 2008 line.

From cocktail, formal pieces, to Miami and Steeplechase-appropriate wear, her collections show a fine high fashion touch. Soft, exquisite fabrics in neutral tones are the basis for her creations, topped off with embellishments that perfectly accent each look.

As a young lady in Thailand, Nina created elegant outfits for herself. "I was brought up to dress up," Nina states. "I always wanted to make things for myself, because certain things are expensive and I couldn't afford it." Her latest collection shows off this creative upbringing, with many of the feminine shapes intricately quilted by hand.

The future is bright for Nina. With her latest collection being picked up for sale in New York, L.A. and Miami boutiques, she has also been invited to present fashion shows in L.A. and abroad in 2009. Keep an eye on this new talent.
